Ann Liguori's Biography
Ann Liguori is among the most versatile and well-respected broadcasters, authors and entrepreneurs in America today. Her charitable efforts, including hosting and organizing an annual charity golf event in The Hamptons, reveals the depth of her character and commitment to doing good work for the community and for causes she believes in.
She is the president of her own television production company and owner of the award-winning Sports Innerview with Ann Liguori, a series broadcast throughout the country. The program is the longest-running sports show hosted, owned and produced by a woman. Ann is one of the original WFAN Radio sports talk show hosts still on the air at the New York station. Ann is the station's golf correspondent and each year covers The Masters, US Open golf (and tennis), PGA Championship and special events such as the Ryder Cup. Ann was the first woman to host her own weekly prime-time show, Conversations with Ann Liguori, which aired on The Golf Channel. Ann also hosted the celebrity golf segment on the nationally-syndicated, Golf 2000 with Peter Jacobsen. Ann has also covered six Olympics for the network radio rights holders as a play-by-play commentator, talk show host, reporter and interviewer. Her most recent Olympic assignment was alpine play-by-play commentator at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, Italy for Westwood One Radio Network.
In 2001, Ann was the first woman in sports media honored with the Association for Women in Communication's Headliner's Award, previously given to Katherine Graham and Barbara Walters, among others.
Ann's hard-hitting but respectful interview style has won her the trust of hundreds of personalities, including entertainers, athletes, coaches, columnists and agents. Her book - A Passion for Golf - Celebrity Musings About the Game - features a collection of interviews on the golf course with some of the most successful celebrities in sports, Hollywood, music and business. Ann narrated and produced the book into an audio book, A Passion for Life, Celebrity Musings from the Fairways.
Ann joins Bob Creamer, Robert Lipsyte and Dave Marsh, among other highly-successful writers, as a regular columnist for Hall of Fame Magazine.com (www.hofmag.com).
Ann has been a celebrity spokesperson and marketing consultant for Bobby Jones Golf clubs, Tri-Bag, Taylor-Made Adidas, IZOD Club and has produced shows for dozens of sponsors including Tourism Ireland, Sharp Electronics, Volvo, Danskin, Lincoln Mercury, Federal Express, Advil, McDonalds, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Continental Airlines, Ashford Castle, Tralee Golf Club, Laurel Links, Morgan Stanley, Kiawah Resort Development, Callaway Golf, Orlimar, Ping, SuperShuttle, Desert Mountain Properties and Aer Lingus. In addition to her entrepreneurial and philanthropic work, Ann is a highly sought-after corporate spokesperson and motivational speaker.
Each June, Ann hosts the Ann Liguori American Cancer Society Golf Classic in The Hamptons. Now in its 10th year, the tournament has raised more than $1 million for cancer research. The tournament has become the most popular charity golf tournament on the East End.
Ann plays in numerous celebrity/charity golf tournaments, served on the Board of Trustees for the National Academy of TV Arts and Sciences, is on the Advisory Board of the Women’s Sports Foundation, is on the Board of the University of South Florida (USF) Alumni Association where she has established an endowed scholarship in the College of Arts & Sciences in memory of her brother Jim. Ann serves on the Women’s Advisory Board of the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.
