"Stallone's big passion: Golf"
Sylvester Stallone gives heavyweight attention to Jim McLean,
pro at Miami's Doral Learning Center. He wields Titleist irons
and a Taylor Made "Burner" driver and plays every hole
like it's a birdie hole. Very aggressive, that's no surprise.
The actor rates that little white balls this way:
"I thought marriage was tough! That's a walk in the park."
Golf "is like going over Niagara Falls in a barrel!"
Stallone reveals his angst on the green on Conversations With
Ann Liguori, to air Wednesday on the new Golf Channel. But he
sounds more enthusiastic than he ever has about marriage. Golf
is "a lifetime commitment. There's no divorcing it
you better make it work!"
He says, "I worked harder at this than any
other facet of my career. . . . I really have found myself to
be absorbed by the psychology of the game."
Sly has an added handicap when he practice-putts
on the job: He's usually in costume. For the upcoming Judge Dredd,
he wore a suit of armor. "Try swinging in that!"
In the future, Liguori will visit with Willie Nelson,
who somehow has his own golf course in Austin, Texas, despite
his money woes. |
